Valerie loves being in the saddle training the BCE horses nearly every daylight hour (and sometimes before and after!) ,every day of the week. Some reside at BCE to be solely Valerie’s competition horses, others are at here to advance their skills or learn new ones so they can become more experienced, responsive and successful when their owners are in the saddle.

Kiss My Jambo M
‘Jambo’
Jambo is a beautiful 2016 Argentinian Warmblood (ANCADES) gelding acquired from his previous owner in Spain. He and Valerie have competed so far up to the Intermediate level, and were rarely out of the Top 10 in CCI2* competition. One of the leading horses in the nation for the Prelim level in 2024, this young guy is all class and beautiful form.

Excel Star Je T'Aime
‘Temmy’
Irish Sport Horse "Temmy" is a tall drink of water for his young age! This 2018 gelding was brought over from breeder David Nelson in Ireland and has stuck to the top of his leaderboards since. Already competing at the CCI2* level, he shows incredible promise and talent for the highest levels of the sport.

BCE PAST COMPETITION HORSES
Favian is a stunning, 16.2hh 2008 Oldenburg gelding originally dressage bred by Anita Nardine of Hidden Springs Ranch, California. He and Valerie reached the top of eventing sport together, including the Kentucky CCI5*, the inaugural Maryland CCI5* in 2021, Blenheim Palace CCI4*, Tryon CCI4*, and were the winners at the Bromont CCI4* in 2022.
Versace
‘Versace’
It was love at first sight for Valerie when she met Versace at colleague Jennie Brannigan’s barn. He’s a complete goofball that is simply a joy to be around. While still considered a prospect when she purchased him as a 9 year old, his inexperience was no fault of his own. He simply slipped through the cracks before Jennie spotted his potential and alerted Valerie that she had her next horse.
Fernhill Whatever
‘Winston’
Winston was a lovely type, grey 16.3, 2005 Irish Sport Horse from the super successful Cruising line. Winston was purchased for Valerie by Greyside LLC from Carol Gee at Fernhill Sport Horse Centre in June of 2012. They had a very successful partnership together placing 1st at the Virginia HT CIC2* in 2013. They also placed 3rd at Fair Hill and Surefire Horse Trials' Intermediates. He went on to win the AECs amongst other top events in the US with Leslie Law.
Playtime
‘Smarty’
Smarty as he is known around the barn was a cheeky 9 year old Selle Français gelding owned by the Ellis family. Smarty’s career highlights include competing at Fair Hill International CCI2* in 2011. He won the 2011 Cosequin Stuart CIC2*! Smarty finished 4th at the 2012 Southern Pines II HTs. He was sold to Lizzie Green of New Zealand and went on to place in the Top Ten at some of the UKs most demanding 3*s!
Clifton Jade
‘Morris’
Morris was a 2001 New Zealand Thoroughbred who took Valerie through the Advanced level. Too many competitions to really list! Career highlights include: 12th place at the 2010 Fair Hill International CCI2*, 9th place at Bromont CCI2* in 2010, and 3rd at 2011 MCTA Advanced.
Freddie Mac
‘Freddie’
Freddie was a 2005 New Zealand TB 16.3, uphill, well bred - by Heroicity, a famous sire of both race and sport horses alike. Freddie's career highlights with Valerie included 4th place at Waredaca HT and Richland HT in 2010 (Novice). After importation, he never stopped growing! He was sold to William Fox Pitt and was incredibly competitive in 3*s around the world!
