Favian, aka ‘Black Beauty,’ is an extremely exciting horse to have in the Blue Clover Eventing lineup! He is stunning, a 16.2 2008 model Oldenburg gelding originally dressage bred by Anita Nardine of Hidden Springs Ranch (California). He’s by French Kiss out of a Relevant/Lord Liberty mare that was imported from Germany. Luckily, he found his way to eventers Tamie Smith and Heather Morris, where his real passion and talent was uncovered – this fancy pony loves to run and jump! He is a cross country machine with a stride that just swallows up the ground! He caught onto the eventing scene quickly, winning the American Eventing Championships at the Novice level in his first year of eventing.

As Favian and Valerie have developed their partnership since he came East in May of 2016, his winning ways have continued. He has moved up to the Preliminary level and won a very competitive OP division at Seneca Valley on a ridiculous score of 21! He finished 6th in the CIC* at Morven Park, and finished 15th out of more than 50 horses in the National 1* Championships at Hagyard Midsouth. All of this he has done so willingly, ears pricked. He is such an incredibly kind, smart, and trainable horse. That combined with his athletic ability makes him an instant all-time favorite of Valerie’s. Not to mention, he has the personality of a lap dog. Favian loves people, attention, and cookies! He’s been known to try to get into the tack room of the trailer when Valerie is in there, begging for treats!

Favian certainly seems to have it all. High hopes for this talented horse, may he one day catch the eye of the Team Selectors!
