Located in West River, Maryland, Sudley Farm is home to Blue Clover Eventing, a training, and competition program run by Valerie Vizcarrondo Pride. A World-Class Facility
With 130 horse friendly acres, a cross country course with schooling obstacles from Beginner Novice through Training level, a 12-stall stable with large equipment areas, wash and grooming stalls, and outside patios for the ponies, and multiple arenas for schooling every phase, Sudley Farm provides all the amenities Blue Clover Eventing riders need to prepare for competition. But it’s not all serious training that takes place at the farm, everyone from students to farriers to vets all gather to enjoy homemade baked goods and craft beer at the famous potluck “snack bar”!
Better Health Management
Blue Clover Eventing has been using StableSecretary to organize its facility for over 5 years. When asked how they chose between management apps, Valerie explained, “A few years ago my barn manager and I were chatting and thinking that surely there had to be a company out there like StableSecretary. She did a Google search, followed by some research and we found StableSecretary. And we are SO glad we did, as it has completely streamlined our operation.”
As a lifelong horsewoman with experience working alongside several Olympic-caliber instructors and mentors, Valerie has a firsthand understanding of the complications that can come with juggling a full barn of athletes. Staying on top of their health is a priority, which is why StableSecretary has been so helpful for her team. “It has totally streamlined our operation! Some of our favorite features include the ability to line up our health care entries with our invoicing, along with being able to track our horse’s daily health vitals. We start each and every day with temperature and leg checks, and we track these notes in Stable Secretary. We can then cross-reference our horse’s health records alongside their training records, which has helped us catch a few minor health issues before they became bigger health issues.” she explained. “Most importantly it’s easy and fast to access, so as long as we have our phones, we have access to all of our records. We’re also able to share this information with the people that need it, including owners and potential buyers.”
