FAVIAN

Favian, aka ‘Black Beauty,’ was a horse of a lifetime for Valerie and the Blue Clover Eventing name. He is a stunning, 16.2hh 2008 model Oldenburg gelding originally dressage bred by Anita Nardine of Hidden Springs Ranch, by French Kiss out of a Relevant/Lord Liberty mare that was imported from Germany. Luckily, he found his way to eventers Tamie Smith and Heather Morris, where his real passion and talent was uncovered – this fancy pony loves to run and jump! He is a cross country machine with a stride that just swallows up the ground. Favian caught onto the eventing scene quickly, winning the American Eventing Championships at the Novice level in his first year of eventing.

As Favian and Valerie developed their partnership since he was brought out East in May of 2016, his winning ways continued upward. He moved up to the Preliminary level and won a very competitive OP division at Seneca Valley on a score of 21, finished 6th in the CIC1* at Morven Park, and finished 15th out of more than 50 horses in the National 1* Championships at Hagyard Midsouth. He then skipped up the levels, and moved up to the five-star (formerly CCI4*) level in 2019. All of this he did willingly, with ears pricked. He is such an incredibly kind, smart, and trainable horse. Combined with his athletic ability, this made him an instant all-time favorite of Valerie’s.

Now regrettably retired from FEI eventing, Favian and his emotional support pony Theodore still follow wherever Valerie goes, training her grooms, working students, and other clients in the ropes of upper-level eventing.
