BCE IS INCREDIBLY LUCKY TO OPERATE OUT OF SUDLEY FARM

Put simply, it is unrivaled in the surrounding area. Working together, Valerie and Elizabeth Bonner have created a world class eventing training facility and are looking forward to the development of the partnership for years to come! Sudley Farm is located on 130 horse friendly acres in West River, MD and very convenient to Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Staff lives on site at Sudley Farm. It operates as a private farm, so please make arrangements with Valerie to come for a visit!

For the full training clients, the 12 stall stable includes everything for human and creature comfort. The accommodations include but are not limited to: large equipment areas, wash stalls, grooming areas, even outside patios for the ponies! Designed and built by King Constrcution, not a detail was overlooked and Sudley Farm can accommodate any and every equine personality and preference. The paddocks are complete with run in sheds and overhangs so horses can stay outside worry-free.

The arenas provide a lot of options, and give each horse and rider the opportunity to make the most out of each training session. The well lit indoor is the size of a regulation standard dressage arena. It boasts state of the art footing, mirrors lining nearly the entire riding area, and a large viewing area. The 125 x 240 outdoor is big enough to set up multiple jump courses let alone individual jumping exercises. The all weather footing makes for an incredible surface to train on year round. Both arenas easily accommodate ship in horses and lessons as well.

There are numerous opportunities for trotting and hacking, either around the vast hay fields or through paths cutting throughout the property. Sudley Farm also boasts the best conditioning hill in the area—whether trotting or galloping the horses are guaranteed to get an incredible work out!

As lovely as Sudley Farm is, BCE does move south for the winter months of February and March. The climate and footing for these months allow Valerie to train outside and start the competition season much earlier than if BCE were to stay at Sudley Farm for the entire winter.

For boarding and training, please see the Rates page. For a full list of Valerie’s credentials, please visit the Highlights page.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Valerie about any questions you may have or special circumstances including clinic opportunities!

CROSS COUNTRY COURSE

The cross country course construction began in the fall of 2013, with the construction of many portable fences replicating what horses will negotiate at recognized competitions from Beginner Novice through Training level. There is a highly versatile water jump, as well as ditches and banks to conquer the technical aspects of the sport as well. Additions to the course will be happening over the next few years so that it can accommodate even more levels and add more variety to the schooling experience.
