CAREER HIGHLIGTS

Valerie thinks it is important for an owner, rider, sponsor, etc. to recognize and celebrate the small day to day accomplishments made by a horse. That said, she is extremely competitive! She wants a record to reflect that progress has been made, as well as the countless hours of effort it took to get a horse to perform to the best of its ability. Valerie is quite proud of her fabulous horses, superstar students, and stellar accomplishments! Along with the help of her A-rated list of coaches (listed below), she is certain that her success, both personal and public, will continue well into the future. Valerie happy to pass along all of my wisdom to the clients that she teaches and to the competitors that she judges.

HER MENTORS

In pursuit of personal excellence, Valerie works frequently with a list of world class, Olympic caliber (and experienced!) instructors and mentors. By constantly expanding and updating her own riding and teaching skills, she can proudly offer all of the horses and students training exercises and aids that allow all of BCE to be a part of a winning program. Most recently she have worked with the following (loved every moment and know there are more to come!), please click on their links to learn more about them:

Karen O’Connor – 3 time Olympian, Pan Am Games Gold and Silver Medalist, 10 time US Lady Rider of the Year and still going!

Linda Zang – World-renowned dressage guru having both ridden in and judged the Olympics and trained numerous others to get there; has judged 6 World Cup Finals and counting; President of the Ground Jury at 2010 World Equestrian Games www.usdf.org/halloffame/inductees/profiles/LindaZang.asp

Jimmy Wofford – Known around the globe to be the best eventing trainer the US has ever had; former coach of the Candian Olympic team and 3 time Olympian himself, author, and TV commentator jimwofford.blogspot.com

Marilyn Payne – An upper level event and dressage rider herself, has earned most of her recognition as the best US Eventing judge in history, has judged every major CCI4* in the world including the 2008 Bejing Olympics, and the 2010 World Equestrian Games, and the President of the Ground Jury at the 2016 Rio Olympics – the first woman to judge TWO Olympics!! https://marilynpayne.com/

I wouldn’t be where I am today without all the help I have received along the way from some good friends willing to teach me a thing or two! Thanks to everyone who has helped me in the past: Jan Byyny, Mara DePuy, Kim Severson, my NAYRC Team coach Phillip Dutton, Packy McGaughan, Bonnie Mosser, and Janice Binkley-Cole
